If your business handles Federal Contract Information (FCI) or Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) for the Department of Defense, CMMC requirements can now appear in your contracts as a condition of award. DTCloudOn helps defense contractors and subcontractors across the United States prepare — from gap assessment and remediation through assessment readiness.
The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) is the Department of Defense's program for verifying that contractors and subcontractors in the Defense Industrial Base protect Federal Contract Information (FCI) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). The DFARS rule that allows CMMC requirements in DoD contracts took effect on November 10, 2025.
Enforcement is phasing in over several years. During Phase 1, many contracts allow self-assessment. Phase 2 begins on November 10, 2026, when DoD starts including Level 2 C3PAO certification requirements in applicable solicitations involving CUI. Because assessment availability can be limited, preparing early helps protect your contract opportunities.
From your first gap assessment to your annual SPRS affirmation, DTCloudOn supports the full CMMC readiness lifecycle.
Evaluate your environment against NIST SP 800-171 and your target CMMC level, and get a prioritized roadmap to close the gaps.
Implement the technical controls, policies, and documented procedures your Plan of Action and Milestones calls for.
Build and maintain the SSP, policies, and evidence artifacts your assessor will expect to see.
A mock assessment modeled on the official Level 2 process, so remaining gaps surface before the official assessment.
Role-based access, least privilege, and multi-factor authentication across systems that process, store, or transmit CUI.
Documented IR plans, tested procedures, and playbooks aligned with CMMC incident response requirements.
Audit and accountability logging, alerting, and anomaly detection across systems that process CUI.
Encryption at rest and in transit, media protection controls, and restricted use of portable media.
Assess and track the compliance posture of subcontractors and vendors who handle your CUI.
Role-based training on CUI handling, phishing, and incident reporting to close human-factor gaps.
Plan and configure GCC High environments — including Purview and DLP — to support CUI handling in the cloud.
Keep your compliance status current in the Supplier Performance Risk System year over year.
CMMC enforcement is rolling out in phases, and each phase expands what may be required to win a DoD contract.
Phase 1 began — CMMC requirements started appearing in DoD solicitations and contracts
Phase 2 begins — Level 2 C3PAO certification required in applicable contracts involving CUI
A common timeframe for organizations starting from scratch to become assessment-ready
C3PAO assessment demand is rising as Phase 2 approaches — waiting can narrow your scheduling options
A structured roadmap from your first gap assessment through your official assessment — and staying compliant after.
We evaluate your environment against NIST SP 800-171 and your target CMMC level, and document every gap.
We help implement the technical controls and policies your Plan of Action and Milestones requires, and refine your documentation.
A mock assessment modeled on the official process, designed to surface remaining gaps before assessment day.
An authorized C3PAO — or DIBCAC for Level 3 — conducts the official assessment against your target level.
We help you submit and maintain your assessment results and affirmations in the Supplier Performance Risk System.
Continuous monitoring, annual affirmations, and control reviews help you stay compliant as your environment evolves.
Whether you're a prime contractor, a subcontractor several tiers down, or a manufacturer handling CUI for the first time, CMMC requirements flow down based on the information you handle — not where you sit in the supply chain.
DTCloudOn's CMMC guidance is supported by a partnership with a Cyber-AB Registered Practitioner Organization (RPO) — so your roadmap is grounded in current CMMC program guidance, not just general IT best practice.
CMMC is the DoD's program for verifying that contractors protect Federal Contract Information and Controlled Unclassified Information. Since November 10, 2025, CMMC requirements can be included in DoD solicitations and contracts through the DFARS rule — so a missing assessment or certification can affect contract eligibility, not just a future audit.
It depends on the information you handle and what your contract specifies. Level 1 covers Federal Contract Information with 15 basic safeguarding requirements and an annual self-assessment. Level 2 covers Controlled Unclassified Information and requires the 110 NIST SP 800-171 requirements, with either a self-assessment or a C3PAO certification depending on the contract. Level 3 adds selected NIST SP 800-172 requirements for the most sensitive programs and is assessed by the government.
During Phase 1, many Level 2 contracts allow self-assessment. Beginning November 10, 2026, Phase 2 adds Level 2 C3PAO certification requirements to applicable solicitations involving CUI. If your pipeline includes CUI work, plan as though third-party certification will be required.
We evaluate your current controls, policies, and documentation against the 110 requirements at Level 2 (or the relevant requirement set for your target level), then provide a prioritized Plan of Action and Milestones that shows what to fix first.
It varies by starting point, but many organizations need six to twelve months to close control gaps and build required documentation. Demand for C3PAO assessments is rising as Phase 2 approaches, so starting early helps protect your timeline.
We support gap assessment, remediation, documentation, and pre-assessment preparation, backed by an RPO partnership for guidance grounded in current CMMC program requirements — so you go into your official assessment prepared instead of guessing.
